FULL TIMERS
Diplomas: The minimum entry requirement for all diploma programs is a mean grade of C- in the Kenyan KCSE (Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education).
Certificates: For certificate programs, the mean grade entry level is a minimum of D plain in the Kenyan KCSE.
Artisan Level: Entry for Artisan Level programs requires a mean grade of D- in the Kenyan KCSE.
Working Professionals: For individuals already in the workforce, a minimum of two years of documented working experience in a busy environment is required for admission.
Documentation: Full-time applicants must provide original official certificates/testimonials, including the KCSE result slip/certificate and leaving certificate. Additionally, submission of a valid ID or birth certificate and four recent colored passport-sized photographs is necessary.
DISTANCE LEARNERS (ICM PROGRAM)
KCSE Certificate: Distance learners applying for the ICM program should hold a KCSE certificate with a minimum mean grade of C-. In some cases, applicants with two years of working experience may be considered at the discretion of the admissions office.
Documentation: Similar to full-time students, distance learners must provide original official certificates/testimonials, including the KCSE result slip/certificate and leaving certificate, along with an ID or birth certificate. Additionally, four recent colored passport-sized photographs are required.
INTAKE PATTERNS
Amboseli Institute offers four intakes in a year, providing flexibility for prospective students to choose their preferred starting date:
- January
- April
- July
- October
TRANSFER ADMISSIONS
Students who have successfully completed craft courses or certificate programs in other recognized institutions may be eligible for credit transfers. However, specific requirements must be met for these transfers to be accepted:
- Submission of official high school records and college records.
- Relevance of content covered in the previous institution to Amboseli Institute’s syllabus.
- Evaluation of the student’s previous academic work by the admissions office and heads of the department.
REGISTRATION
Once a student is accepted, the registration process involves the following steps:
- Discussion about the various courses offered.
- Issuance of an acceptance letter that details the reporting date, payable fees, and other requirements.
- Stipulation of the course duration and associated costs.
REPORTING TO THE INSTITUTE
When reporting to the institute, students should ensure they bring the following:
- The required fees as stated.
- An original identity card or passport.
- Four recent colored passport-sized photographs.
- Writing materials such as fullscap paper, files, pens, pencils, and hardcover books (A4 size).
- Personal items including a mattress, bedding, toiletries, a basin/buckets, and any other necessary personal effects for boarders.
CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION
The Institute reserves the right to cancel or terminate the registration of any student who fails to comply with the set rules and regulations. It’s essential for all students to adhere to the institute’s guidelines and code of conduct to ensure a conducive learning environment for everyone.
